Day 1: Transfer to San Juan Airport or Bus Station. Accommodation at selected hotel. 2:30 PM: Grand City Tour of San Juan and Surroundings: Juan Victoria Auditorium, Sarmiento's Birthplace, Cathedral, Bicentennial Theater (peripheral visit), Merced del Estero Winery or Campo de Olivos Olive Oil Mill or Sierras Azules Farm, Ullum Dam.
Day 2: Breakfast. Morning departure to Barreal, with stunning views throughout the journey. Accommodation in Barreal. In the afternoon, visit the CASLEO or CESCO Observatory. Tour to see the main telescope, the control room, and other areas. Stargazing with equipment accompanied by Observatory staff. Includes packed dinner. Return to the hotel in Barreal.
Note: This activity takes place in the outdoor area of the Observatory. Appropriate clothing is recommended. If nighttime observation is not possible at the Observatories, the activity is carried out with a suitable local provider, with the same equipment, but in another location in the town.
Day 3: Breakfast. Free day to enjoy optional activities: horseback riding, hiking, land sailing, or simply relax in this beautiful pre-Andean landscape and the surroundings of the lodge. After dinner (not included), departure for Pampa El Leoncito for stargazing in one of the clearest skies in Argentina. This time, without equipment, simply experience the magic of a sky filled with stars from horizon to horizon. Return to Barreal.
Optional for groups: musician – special catering.
Day 4: Breakfast. In the morning, visit regional producers of aromatic herbs and sweets or a high-altitude winery. Return to San Juan. Overnight at selected hotel.
Day 5: Breakfast. Full-day tour to Ischigualasto Provincial Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Traditional daytime visit, comprising four stations (Painted Valley, Bocce Court, The Submarine, The Mushroom), on a 40-kilometer internal route. And a visit to the William Sill Interpretation Center. To reach Ischigualasto, take National Route 150. (Park entrance fee not included). Return to San Juan in the afternoon. Overnight at the selected hotel.
Day 6: Breakfast and transfer out.
Observatory entrance fee: Daytime $7,000 / Nighttime $9,000. Ischigualasto General Admission $55,000. Argentine Residents $38,000. These rates may vary.
Operates: Year-round, subject to reservations. Check for opening dates based on observatory availability.
IMPORTANT: CASLEO and CESCO are located at over 2,400 meters above sea level, and overnight stays are permitted there instead of Barreal, subject to availability. Overnight stays are not permitted for people over 70 years of age or children under 4. Scientific activity is prioritized, so always check available dates.
